Vienna-style Lager. This 2009 Great American Beer Festival Silver Medal winner is an amber colored lager medium in body with a finish that has hints of caramel and toasted nuts. This beer is brewed with four different malts resulting in its smooth malty flavor. 4.9% alcohol by volume, 20 IBUs
Bavarian-style Hefeweizen. This 2010 Great American Beer Festival Bronze medal winner is a traditional Bavarian-style wheat beer is hazy gold in color, with a lively fruity finish that has hints of clove and banana. This is the beer that started the odyssey that led to the creation of Devils Backbone Brewing Company. During a ski trip to the Alps, DBBC founder Steve Crandall discovered and fell in love with Hefeweizen. Now we bring Hefeweizen to the Blue Ridge. 4.7% alcohol by volume, 13 IBUs
American-style India Pale Ale. This pale bronze beer is medium in body with intense hop flavor and aroma. Our IPA is brewed in the style of the “west coast” with robust hop character coming from American grown varieties of hops. IPA’s are amongst the most popular craft brewed beers as they have moderate strength and tons of flavor. This is not your Grandfathers beer! 5.9% alcohol by volume, 60 IBUs
Scottish- style 60 Schilling Ale. 2010 Great American Beer Festival Bronze winner is back! This Scottish-style 60 shilling ale is light brown in color; light to medium in body with hints of toast and toffee. 4.0% Alcohol by volume, 22 IBUs Growler Friendly!
Dark Lager. This deep copper-brown lager is light to medium in body with a smooth finish which tastes mildly of cocoa & toast. An often forgotten style that all but died out in the 1970s. 4.6% abv 19 IBUs Growler Friendly!
Oak Aged Wee Heavy. This winter's first batch of our infamous Kilt Flasher Wee Heavy has been aged for several months on barrel wood from the Belmont Farms Distillery in Culpeper, VA (plus some fresh toasted oak chips!). Delicious notes of Whiskey and hints of vanilla blend with the beer's naturally robust malty character to create a brew with subtle scotch undertones. 7.6% abv 20 IBUs
Imperial Brown Ale . An Imperial Brown Ale which is hella hoppy and flavorful. Resin, citrus and pine hop flavors abound. Hopped and dry hopped with seven different hop varieties. 8.5% Alcohol by volume, 90+ IBUs
Amber Lager. An aromatic amber lager with a slight hazy appearance. Caramel and smoke flavors come from the use of beech wood smoked malt from Bamberg. You'll enjoy savory flavors reminiscent of bacon. This beer will pair wonderfully with any of our smoked menu items. 5.3% Alcohol by volume, 17 IBUs Growler Friendly!
